Hi all! Hope your Christmas was wonderful! My sister, her husband and their kids came to visit. I made a turkey and wanted to share a quick tip for the most juicy white meat ever! For the first two-thirds of roasting, cook the turkey BREAST SIDE DOWN and cover roasting pan tightly with foil. The turkey will self baste and all of the juices will run into the breast meat. For the last part of cooking, uncover bird and turn to breast side up so the bird gets some nice color.
Try it and you will be a hero! You should have heard the compliments my turkey received Christmas Day!

Great idea will give it a try in November, because still then I can't choke another bite of turkey down.

Good advice I will have to try. I've always been too scared to do my own turkey. Maybe next year :)
Who would have thought! I have never made a whole turkey myself...but in case I do...I'll keep this tip in mind:)
