Attention Shoppers!

OK, y'all... I need your advice. I want to get my little sister a GREAT baby gift and also a special gift that's just for her. I thought about one of these BYOG personal hospital gowns so she looks great in the first hospital photos, but I'm also open to other ideas. And what's the best gift you gave/got for a newborn? What are your favorite baby shopping websites?

The best gifts my daughter received were two pairs of lounging pajamas that were great to have once she got home and guest started arriving. She felt comfortable and presentable. One of the best baby gifts was a small divided plastic container that would hold premeasured amounts of formula to simply add to room temperature bottled water when the baby needed to be fed. Always had a freshly mixed bottle, and extremely convenient and found at Target.

Oh, there are so many great gifts you could get for her. I love the idea of the gown, but I think it would be nice to get something special for the baby from you.

Maybe a nice blanket? Little Giraffe makes some really cute ones. I always love the idea of a cute gift basket. One of my best friends had a baby a few months ago. I bought a cute tote at PB Kids and put some cute onesies, cloth diapers, stuffed animals, a blanket, a piggy bank, and maybe a few other things inside.

I'm sure you'll give her something great!

I hope you get a lot of great ideas. I will be coming back to look because I am 10w2d pregnant. I really want one of those BYOB gowns, too.

my favorite baby gift was my daughter's birth announcement engraved on a silver tray from tiffany's. the chamois stroller blankets from pottery barn kids are great. there are also some adorable baby hats and sweaters personalized at www.babyknitsandmore.com
you can also do a birth frame from exposuresonline.com with the baby's name, date of birth, weight and height engraved on it. i think gifts that last the test of time are the best ones to give, especially if this is her first baby

Check Etsy for anything tagged baby! The one thing we used the most though was the stroller/carseat combo thing.

I love the idea of the hospital gown! Also, Vera has a really good Diaper Bag and their new pattern (hope collection) donates 10% to cancer awareness/research. Also, my friend had this Anna Courval tag necklace on her blog

I think it would be a sweet gift for your sister when the baby comes that would have the initials and the birthstone.
