A Surprise Visit!

This weekend (instead of Anna Maria Island) my sister called us up late Friday night and came for a visit with her husband. We had such a great time! When they got here we made pina coladas with fresh Florida strawberries thrown in. Yum! We headed to the pool for a little afternoon sun and when we'd had enough my sister made HER SPECIAL chicken seasoned and cooked in rasberry pomegranate beer with potatoes and gravy. We stayed up way late drinking wine and doing impromptu karaoke and dancing (which the boys thought was pretty funny)!

Sunday, we all slept in and when we finally dragged ourselves out from our rooms I made cheesy egg omlette sanwiches topped with some wonderful homegrown tomatoes. Mr. Beachy went out for the newspaper and got us a few pastries from Panera Bread, too! We spent the afternoon napping and watching movies. They stayed for an early bird dinner and I made MY SPECIAL roast chicken with gravy and roasted carrots and broccoli. YUM! We went outside after dinner and watched the space shuttle launch and after that they headed out. I hope to get up to see them next month when Mr. Beachy goes to visit his hometown/do his fantasy baseball draft trip.

Hope your weekend was as much fun as mine!

The Back Porch Royalty frequently have Pina Colado's, throw in some fresh pineapple and bananas too...
I just love the line you threw in this post. We watched the space shuttle too.........On my bucket list, but everytime I get there it gets postponed. My John, who is a boat captain (never mentioned on the blog, yet) interviewed for a new boat today...If you get it, I will share pics for a post.....Who knew what they do with boats these days anymore.......wow
