Beach Art

Over the weekend while I was shopping with my sister I added a couple of "coastal" friends to our little beach house.

The man who makes these is in his 80's. He goes out and finds shapes in Cypress wood that look like birds, fish, etc. I go back to the little shop in Englewood, FL that sells his work every month or so to see what's new. So far we've picked up this white pelican and angelfish. I'm still on the lookout for a manatee, dolphin and ray (or whatever else I can't resist)! I think we'll end up putting these in our kitchen over the cabinets. How cute!

I also picked up this apothecary jar. I collected these shells in ONE DAY after Tropical Storm Faye moved through this summer (this jar is almost 2 feet tall and I still have another basket-full)!

ooo, great pics of great new coastal friends, lol!

I'm excited to check out more of your blog.

It's funny you mention Sarasota as well as my BF (Josh) has a client who wants to buy in Sarasota and we're clueless but he doesn't want us to hand him off to anyone else...maybe we could kill to birds with one stone so to speak, lol!

Thanks for stopping by, I'm off to enjoy more of your blog.
