I'm the hostess. Can you help me with the mostess?

Guess what? I am planning my sister's baby shower! I'm so excited! I need your help though. I've never hosted a shower and I was wondering if y'all had some neat favor ideas? I don't want to spend too much so I need to be creative. Our colors will be pink and green and maybe brown. I am doing potted flowers as game prizes.

As for my favor ideas, there are some cute little flower starter kits at Target for $1 that I thought might be nice in individual bags tied with ribbon. I also was thinking of flower or palm tree cookie cutters with a favorite recipe.

Any other ideas out there? Any baby shower ideas that you love?

Google "diaper cake." I hosted a shower for a friend and the diaper cake was my gift to the mom-to-be. I made my own and it was easy.

I purchaed baby clothes pins and a piece of twine that I thumbtacked to the wall behind the mommy to be so when she opens gifts she can have the onsies hanging like a clothesline that she's received :) Also, you can roll up onsies to make them look like roses and put them in a flower pot as a cute centerpiece or something.

Showers are so fun!

I made cream cheese cookies that are delicious but used a strawberry cake mix for 1/2 of them so some were pink and some were white. They are easy to make, cheap, and stay moist and yummy even when made days ahead. Let me know if you want the recipe. You could put them in the bag with a cookie cutter and cute ribbon. How fun to plan the shower! It will be perfect, I'm sure.

One baby shower I went to we were all asked to bring one of our favorite childhood books as a gift.

my aunt had us play some kind of bingo game that was cute at my cousin's shower... it mixed us all up and we talked a lot with different people...

she makes a super yummy jello cake on those kind of events, too!

Have fun!

For the favors, I spray painted 4" pots with chalkboard paint, filled them with different herb plants, then wrote the herb name on the pot. It was very inexpensive. All purchased at Home Depot. You gotta do the diaper cake centerpiece.
